 Mysterious Blood Trails at my Home

About a month ago, I came home and found mysterious blood trails around my home.  I mapped them out, studied them for about an hour, and kept trying to recreate the scene, but it confounded me.  I asked the neighbors who saw nothing, and were equally confounded.  I cast about for hours trying to pick up the trail in the general area. 

 Clearly it was made by a human or humans, and I could sense that whoever did it had lingered, which made no sense.  Over and over I walked the tracks and I just could not figure it out.  I thought maybe someone working on the banana trees and hurt himself, but that was a LOT of blood for one guy to spill, and also the patterns did not make sense.  Why would he bleed so heavy and hang around without telling anyone?  Was he a criminal?  The mystery remained.  

So I came home an hour ago, and there were new blood trails.  Lots and lots of it.  I cast about my home a lot, so I know it was not there yesterday.  I did not even see it this morning.  Again, I started photographing and mapping it, and this time I was ready to call the police.  Instead, I did what you should always, which is to find the oldest person that you can find, and ask.  So I asked an elderly woman, and she looked at the blood trails and laughed.  Walked back to her home, and came out with a big knife. 

 She said it is banana blood!  (None of the other Thais knew this!)  She cut a banana tree and showed me the clear blood, and rubbed it on the concrete, saying it will disappear now, but you will see it like blood tomorrow.  Sure enough, it has disappeared now.  And this explains why I did not see it this morning.  

She said they are cutting the banana leafs for Loi Krathong festival.  She laughed very hard and asked if I am happy now, and I said yes, thank you!  (I should buy her a small gift, because she just taught me something about tracking.)

 A horrific video of two women being paraded naked on a road by a group of men in Manipur has been shared widely on social media, drawing massive condemnation and calls for action. The two women were gang-raped in a field, a tribal organisation has alleged. The execution of women by the Nazis during World War II This is a tribute to the amazing courage of so many young women during World War II who were put to death for plotting and fighting against the Nazis, as resistance fighters, partisans and activists in towns and concentration camps. It is estimated that more than 4,000 women of various ages were hanged by Nazi forces between 1939 and 1945.  Just a twist- Davy Crockett's older sister, Effie Crockett was invited to help some mothers in the Muskogee Tribe.  Once she arrived in camp, Effie laughed at what she saw. The Muskogee Tribe had a custom of cradling their pappooses among the swaying branches of birch trees. This protected their babies from ground insects, the sun, and wild animals.  After first finding it funny, she soon learned all the great reasons for this practice and marveled at the beauty of it.  Effie watched the swaying and soothing motion of the topmost branches of the trees. The capture of brave Russian officer Rosinski This is a shocking image and I apologize in advance for sharing it, but here’s one that truly got to me… in Belarus, 1918, after WWI had already ended, the brave Russian officer Rosinski was captured by the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks tortured the captain, likely to get information out of the man, which he bravely refused to give. After that, they simply continued with the torture out of some sick sense of innate cruelty. He was ‘the enemy’ and he was at their mercy, so they brutally murdered their captive.
