From the very beginning of the war and almost until its end, German snipers have always been equipped better than the Soviet ones, and 100% German optics both then and now surpassed ours, Zeiss (Karl Zeiss) optics was rightfully considered the best. 

Vasily Zaitsev is one of the best snipers of the Second World War, who destroyed more than two hundred German soldiers in a month and a half. 

Zaitsev's legendary confrontation with the German supersniper would later be called the most famous sniper duel of the war.
