In recent times, Xenophobic attacks are not the only vice that has plagued South Africa, the African country has also been witnessing a consistent assault on female residents as many rapist cases have been recorded.

Just yesterday, its president, Cyril Framphosa, took to his Twitter handle to state, “…and to MEN we say you have an important role to play in speaking out against gender-based violence, actively playing a role in transforming your own and other men’s attitudes towards women based on their sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sexual identity.”

And now, a picture of a man who’s manhood was chopped off under the claim that he was a rapist has emerged online.

Sharing the very graphic image, a South African Twitter user, with username “Yesu Naya Ka Thixo” wrote, “ He raped a five-year-old and they did this to him. Retweet and show these rapists the consequence.”

  A revolutionary surgery took place on this day 64 years ago, changing the world of medicine as we know it.  For the first time ever, a machine was inserted into the human body in lieu of a body part that was no longer able to function correctly.  In 1958, two doctors, cardiac surgeon Ake Senning and medical device engineer Rune Elmqvist, implanted the first ever internal cardiac pacemaker into the body of Swedish engineer Arne Larsson. Larsson’s surgery was done to treat his Stokes-Adams syndrome, a condition that slows the heartbeat and decreases blood flow to the brain, resulting in potentially fatal fainting spells.  This revolutionary internal pacemaker was the size of a hockey puck and used two transistors that would deliver tiny shocks to the heart.  On this day 20th February 1942.  For not revealing the whereabouts of his commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel J. J. Scanlan, Japanese troops executed Australian prisoner of war John R. Gray at Rabaul, New Britain by slashing his chest open and removing his heart while he was still alive. The Battle for Rabaul was a complete success for the invading Japanese forces. Of the over 1,000 Australian soldiers taken prisoner, around 160 were massacred on or about 4 February 1942 in four separate incidents around Tol and Waitavalo. Six men survived these killings and later described what had happened to a Court of Inquiry. The Australian government concluded the prisoners were marched into the jungle near Tol Plantation in small groups and were then bayoneted by Japanese soldiers. At the nearby Waitavalo Plantation, another group of Australian prisoners were shot. It is estimated that more than 4,000 women of various ages were hanged by Nazi forces between 1939 and 1945.
