I WAS ONLY SEARCHING FOR A JOB
After many years of trying to obtain a certificate in my profession, I find myself rolling on the streets, searching for a job.
Reflecting on my school life, it wasn't easy – the fees, the rush hours to class, the stress of doing projects, and those hungry days when I had to drink only water while still focusing on my books. School was a challenge, but as a student aspiring for a better future, we had to carry that cross.
I've attended job interviews where I was asked to make a payment afterward. That wasn't what we were told before going to school. We were informed that after dedicating years to our education, our future would shine, especially with our professional certificates. Unfortunately, the reality was different.
In the midst of my thoughts, my phone rang. It was Ella, my childhood friend, whom I hadn't been in touch with much since university. She provided me with a contact for a new company opening somewhere. I called the number and was invited for an interview.
With a hopeful and cheerful mind, I prepared for the interview the next day. Upon reaching the address provided, the building seemed more like a home than a company. After entering, I asked a lady if it was a company, and she confirmed, leading me to the manager's office. However, after waiting for hours without seeing any manager, I decided to leave. Three men entered the room, looking at me strangely. I felt afraid and wanted to run, but there was no escape.
I was violated and robbed of everything valuable on me. It felt surreal. They forced me out, threatening harm to me and my family if I spoke about the incident.
Feeling hopeless and destitute, I kept silent out of fear. Two weeks later, I discovered I was pregnant. It felt like a nightmare – what I was seeking was a job, not an unplanned child.
