 This is a random one, but I still laugh thinking about it...the power of xray

So I have a close friend ‘Rudy’ who used to surf all the time in Manhattan Beach, CA. One day he sends me a text and says “bro I took a bad spill on the surf yesterday and really messed up my hip. Do you know any orthopedic surgeons that can take a second look at this xray?” He then attaches the xray.

I’m not kidding when I tell you that a few hours later I just so happened to be visiting another friend who is an orthopedic surgeon! I’m seriously not making this up. Anyway, I remembered Rudy’s ask and showed the surgeon the xray image. At that same exact moment another female doctor who was standing around glanced at the pic and screamed, “GIVE ME YOUR FRIEND’S NUMBER, NOW!!”

Not understanding why she even cared, I took another look at the pic and there it was…!!

Point is, the pic was a meme (likely a fake) going around, I never paid attention to the details, and I got punked…BAD! I still laugh about it, 10 years later!!

  A revolutionary surgery took place on this day 64 years ago, changing the world of medicine as we know it.  For the first time ever, a machine was inserted into the human body in lieu of a body part that was no longer able to function correctly.  In 1958, two doctors, cardiac surgeon Ake Senning and medical device engineer Rune Elmqvist, implanted the first ever internal cardiac pacemaker into the body of Swedish engineer Arne Larsson. Larsson’s surgery was done to treat his Stokes-Adams syndrome, a condition that slows the heartbeat and decreases blood flow to the brain, resulting in potentially fatal fainting spells.  This revolutionary internal pacemaker was the size of a hockey puck and used two transistors that would deliver tiny shocks to the heart.  Why are people in Europe afraid to touch on the topic of the Great Patriotic War? Because they ALL fought against Red Army And everyone should know this. In 1941, not only Germany attacked the USSR. The rest of Europe was also attacked, with the exception of the Serbs and Greeks. The USSR was attacked by Spanish divisions and French legions, Italian armies, Romania, Hungary, Finland, parts of Czechoslovakia, Croatia, etc. So, the Brest Fortress was stormed Austrians, and Sevastopol - Romanians and Italians.  On this day 20th February 1942.  For not revealing the whereabouts of his commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel J. J. Scanlan, Japanese troops executed Australian prisoner of war John R. Gray at Rabaul, New Britain by slashing his chest open and removing his heart while he was still alive. The Battle for Rabaul was a complete success for the invading Japanese forces. Of the over 1,000 Australian soldiers taken prisoner, around 160 were massacred on or about 4 February 1942 in four separate incidents around Tol and Waitavalo. Six men survived these killings and later described what had happened to a Court of Inquiry. The Australian government concluded the prisoners were marched into the jungle near Tol Plantation in small groups and were then bayoneted by Japanese soldiers. At the nearby Waitavalo Plantation, another group of Australian prisoners were shot. The Muskogee Tribe had a custom of cradling their pappooses among the swaying branches of birch trees. It is estimated that more than 4,000 women of various ages were hanged by Nazi forces between 1939 and 1945. Many more were shot or guillotined and many were tortured before minimal or non-existent trials.  They could be sentenced to death by People's Courts and executed within prisons, by the commandants of concentration camps or by military commanders in the field and summarily executed, usually in public.
